Pride Month is set to be more epic than ever before in Bayou City thanks to two separate celebrations in June! Houston’s New Faces of Pride and Pride Houston 365 are the organizations hosting Pride festivities with plenty of activities and fun for the entire community and allies to look forward to. Here is what each organization has slated for this year:

HOUSTON’S NEW FACES OF PRIDE

With promises to “present Pride like never before”, Houston’s New Faces of Pride is looking forward to their inaugural celebrations! Although they’ve already been hard at work this year fundraising for their beneficiaries, Tony’s Place and Grace Place, the big shebang is set to take over downtown on Saturday, June 22.

Rainbow Revolution - New Faces of Pride

Featuring indoor and outdoor activities, the celebration will take over Fish Plaza at Wortham Theater Center with plenty of shade and cooling stations for respite from the Houston heat. Aimed at emphasizing diversity, inclusion, and empowerment, the team will host and feature more than 350 festival vendors, food, live performances, a space for nonprofit organizations to share their mission with the masses—all coming together under the theme of "Rainbow Revolution.” Festival entry is $3 and tickets can be purchased online HERE, or in-person upon arrival. Children under 12 are invited to enjoy the festival free of charge.

Following the fest, the parade will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Bagby St. at outbound Allen Parkway, and stretch 15 blocks downtown for all to come out and enjoy once the sun begins to set. Make plans to attend the festival, the parade, or both to show your pride, give back to the organizations doing amazing work, and have an amazing time celebrating the fabulousness of the LGBTQ+ community.

PRIDE HOUSTON 365

This year marks the 46th annual parade and festival for Pride Houston 365! Embracing the theme of "You Won't Break Our Pride,” the organization is slated to host their festival and parade downtown, along with other events to enjoy, this June.

Kicking off Pride Month with a bang, Pride Houston 365 will host a free family-friendly Pride Market on June 2 at Karbach Brewing Co. complete with DJs, food trucks, performances, give-a-ways, games, contests, and more! Also on deck are “Soaked,” a pool party at Heights House Hotel, Rock the Runway, and other events planned by the organizers.

Thousands lined the streets for the Pride Parade

On Saturday, June 29, Pride returns to Downtown Houston with the 46th annual Houston LGBT+ Pride celebration. The festival and parade will take place at Houston City Hall (901 Bagby Street) and is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of community members to the more than 500,000 sq.ft. of space. The 2024 celebration will see a revamped festival layout with cooling tents, shaded walkways, and free water (while supplies last). Festival GA tickets are free for guests ages 21 and under, as well as for seniors (55+). Festival goers aged 21-54 will need to purchase tickets in advance online for $5 or $10 at the gate, and VIP tickets will go on sale April 1. As always, the parade is free for the public to enjoy, so get ready for back-to-back weekends of fun!

While a bit unorthodox to host multiple festivals within a week of each other, Houston is poised to show the masses that two Pride celebrations are better than one. So, whether you choose to attend one or both, the important part is that you have fun celebrating the incredibly diverse, fierce, and fabulous LGBTQ+ community and take time to reflect on the reason for the season.
