Chevron Houston Marathon
January 15, 2017
This annual 26.2, 13.1 and 3.1 mile run, which begins and ends at Downtown’s George R. Brown Convention Center, has steadily grown to attract more than 20,000 entrants from around the world and 200,000 spectators.  

Martin Luther King Jr. Grande Parade
January 16, 2017
This annual parade celebrating the civil rights leader marches through the heart of Houston and draws more than 300,000 supporters from around the nation.

Galveston Mardi Gras
February 17 - February 28, 2017
Mardi Gras! Galveston is the third largest Mardi Gras celebration in the United States, attracting more than 300,000 attendees annually. The two-week celebration is best known for its lavish parades held on the streets of the city's historic downtown and beachfront.

LUEY Weekend
March 2-5, 2017
Let Us Entertain You started in 1971 in order to "keep the party going" for individuals returning from Mardi Gras in New Orleans...The weekend following Fat Tuesday was designated LUEY Weekend.

World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest
March 2-4, 2017
The World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest is three days of cooking, competition, eating and dancing. The sweet aroma drifts over the Houston metropolis, drawing crowds like bees to honey. Trophies are awarded to teams preparing the best dish in each category (brisket, chicken, pork and spare ribs) as well as an overall winner.   

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
March 7-26, 2017
Rodeo time has been a tradition in Houston since 1932, and the three-week extravaganza at Reliant Park continues to consume the city every spring. The kickoff for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ is the Rodeo Parade, after trail riders ride into town and set up camp in Memorial Park.  All 20 championship rodeo competitions are concluded with entertainment by music superstars.

Enjoy multiple days of events and an organized LGBT presence for the first time at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo!

AIDS Walk Houston 
March 5, 2017
Join thousands of walkers on a 5k trek through Downtown and along Buffalo Bayou as they raise money for AIDS services in Houston. This is a popular fundraising event in Houston. 

Diana Awards Show
March 18, 2017
Houston's Diana Foundation is the oldest continually run gay organization in the country. Each spring the Dianas host their black tie awards ceremony which includes entertainment, dinner and a "roast" of members. 

Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park 
March 24-26, 2017
The Bayou City Art Festival at Memorial Park kicks off spring as Houston’s premier outdoor fine arts event. More than 300 national artists working in 19 artistic media are juried and invited to show and sell their original art at this event.

HRC Gala
April 1, 2017
The HRC Houston Gala gives the community the opportunity to support the nation's leading LGBT civil rights organization.  Celebrities, awards and a fantastic dinner are part of this annual event.

Bunnies on the Bayou
April 16, 2017 - Easter Sunday 
More than 3,500 people participate in the annual Bunnies on the Bayou celebration on the shores of Buffalo Bayou Downtown. Lauded as one of the most popular gay events in the city, Bunnies draws participants from around the country to Houston for the big cocktail party!  

Victory Fund Brunch

The national organization responsible for getting LGBT candidates elected to office hosts one of Houston's most anticipated events of the year. The annual Victory Fund Brunch draws more than 500 members of the community together to support the mission of the local chapter and the organization as a whole. The event typically occurs between 11 am and 2 pm at one of the area hotels or venues. 

Art Car Parade
April 8, 2017
More than 250,000 spectators line downtown’s streets to view this parade, which showcases Houston’s most outlandish folk art creations on wheels. The Fruit Mobile, a 1967 Ford station wagon, started the craze in 1986. Truly a sight to see, the parade is produced by the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art.

OutReach United Vegas Night

Join OutReach United for its annual Las Vegas Night Fundraiser. Open bar, entertainment and casino-style gaming make this a popular event. Money raised through OutReach goes to local nonprofits such as Montrose Center.  

Dining Out for Life

Dining Out for Life is an annual dining fundraising event that raises money for AIDS service organizations across the country. Dozens of area restaurants participate in the event, donating a portion of proceeds from dining receipts that day to AIDS Foundation Houston.

Houston Dragon Boat Festival

The Texas Dragon Boat Association, in collaboration with Buffalo Bayou Partnership, presents its annual Houston Dragon Boat Festival. The festival showcases dozens of teams competing along the banks of Buffalo Bayou at Allen's Landing, and includes Asian cuisine, music, arts and crafts, and cultural performances.

Galveston Gay Beach Weekend

Grab your friends and head down to Galveston for the 5th annual Gay Beach Weekend. A fun-filled weekend downtown and at the beach with music, volleyball, horseshoes, drinking, sunning, swimming, mixing and mingling at Apffel Beach Park, also know as East Beach.

Rainbow on the Green

Rainbow on the Green brings talented performers and a festival atmosphere to Discovery Green to celebrate Gay Pride Month. Thousands show up each year for this free event. 

Houston Pride Celebration

The largest Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender event in the Southwest takes place each year during the Houston Pride Parade where more than 1,000 participants entertain hundreds of thousands of spectators with an empowering blend of light, color and sound with beautiful floats, costumes and performances.

Freedom Over Texas Festival
July 4th 
Houston’s official July 4th celebration takes place in Eleanor Tinsley Park at Buffalo Bayou and features live entertainment, food booths and a world-famous fireworks display.  

QFest

Houston's LGBT film festival has been a driving force for creativity in the community for nearly two decades. The multi-day festival presents the best of queer independent film, with a number of projects often tied back to the city.

Houston Restaurant Weeks

Enjoy lunch and dinner specials at dozens of Houston's top restaurants. Multi-course, pre fixe menus make this a must for any foodie. A portion of the proceeds from each meal go to the Houston Food Bank.

Transgender Unity Banquet
September 17, 2016
The Houston Transgender Unity Committee produces this annual banquet, which has become the largest event for the local transgender community. The banquet raises money for scholarships, Pride-related activities and other events. 

October 

Diana Country Dinner Weekend
September 30 - October 2, 2016
The Dianas host their country dinner weekend with a big dance on Saturday night followed by a brunch on Sunday. Proceeds benefit local nonprofits such as Legacy Community Health. 

Out Smart Magazine Gayest and Greatest Awards 
Mid October 
Every year the city's top LGBT magazine conducts a reader's poll and names the best of the best in numerous categories, from local personalities to consumer businesses. 

Texas Renaissance Festival
October 6 - November 7, 2016
Starting in October and continuing for eight themed weekends in Plantersville, the Texas Renaissance Festival recreates an English village of the 16th century. Magicians, jugglers, minstrels, troubadours and comedians perform on six stages.

The Original Greek Festival
October 6-9, 2016
Celebrate the 45th Annual Houston Greek Festival on the grounds of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Authentic Greek food, wine, dancing and artifacts are fun for the entire family. 

Bayou City Art Festival Downtown
2nd Weekend of October
The fine juried art show in downtown’s Hermann Square and Tranquility Park, spans several blocks filled with paintings, sculptures, jewelry and music, plus great food, wine cafes, beer taverns and a kids zone.  

OutReach United Coming Out Party
October 8, 2016
Since its launch as a nonprofit, OutReach United has always sought to lessen the burden of the coming out process. The annual Coming Out Party - timed to coincide with Coming Out Day - offers entertainment, open bar and a fabulous auction all to raise funds for nonprofits that assist people in the LGBT community.

City of Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade
November 24, 2016
The Thanksgiving Day parade remains a six-decade-old holiday tradition showcasing the Houston community and entertaining more than 200,000 parade-goers lining the streets Thanksgiving morning.

Day for Night Festival

This one-of-a-kind festival brings together art and music in a dazzling indoor/outdoor experience. The inaugural 2015 festival drew acts such as Kendrick Lamar, New Order and Erykah Badu
