Houston is often referred to as “The Culinary Capital of the Country.” No matter what you are craving, it seems there is always a new restaurant or bar popping up all over the city for you to discover. So, grab your friends and spice up your night at one these new hotspots.

Roswell’s Saloon
This bar is out of this world… literally. You’ll feel like a like a kid again as you sip specialty cocktails while being surrounded by neon colors and floating planets. This kitschy bar has space-themed craft cocktails like Pale Blue Dot is, named for Earth, and the Crop Circles cocktail uses a house-made elote syrup.

Trill Burger
Houston rapper Bun B has opened his first brick and mortar location at what was the home to the historic James Coney Island spot. These mouth-watering burgers are made up of two smashed all-beef patties and topped with pickles, caramelized onions, American cheese, and Trill sauce. Don’t wait too long to get your own trill burger because the location will only be open for six months!

Citizens of Montrose
This all-day restaurant is the first location located outside of New York. Specializing in authentic Australian cuisine, this restaurant serves breakfast fare like avocado toast, smashed double brisket burger and a miso chicken bowl. Their extensive list of cocktails and coffees make Citizens of Montrose a great option at any time of day.

Picnik – Montrose
Healthy food is approachable at this beautifully designed eatery. Picnik is not just serving up real food with purposeful ingredients, but they are cooking up good vibes with the goal of creating a better relationship between food and better health. Diners can choose from highlights like the Bacon Jam Burger (juicy grass-fed beef patty, always organic raw cheddar, mouthwatering house made bacon jam, mustard, pickles), butter coffee and an all-day brunch menu.

The Chelsea Bistro + Bar
This modern restaurant is in the trendy Montrose Collection, a mixed-use development consisting of restaurants, shops, and office spaces. The eclectic menu offers something for everybody with raw dishes, including freshly shucked oysters, salads, Thai curry poached lobster, and ricotta and artichoke tartine.

Andiron
If you are looking for the perfect steakhouse, look no further than Andiron. The menu honors the classic steakhouse ambiance while also offering a modern small plate progressive dining experience. Meats and the freshest seafoods and vegetables are cooked over the 22-foot live fire grill on display for the whole dining room to view.

Refuge Coffeehouse + Bar
Coffee lovers rejoice for the opening of this new coffeehouse and bar. This cozy two-story hotspot offers an array of coffees on the first floor, with a 50-seat bar on the second. Refuge also offers a weekday happy hour from 5 to 6 p.m., featuring menu cocktails at half price.
