    Operation Torch

    The first major battle of Battleship Texas's career was Operation Torch - the Allied Invasion of North Africa in 1942. Captain Roy Pfaff led his men to victory off the coast of Port Lyautey with a young Walter Cronkite onboard, while Battleship Massachusetts dueled the French Battleship Jean Bart at Casablanca and the British and American forces seized Oran and Algiers.
