Bay area Houston residents can all agree on one thing – Tookies is the best place south of downtown to grab a burger. But now diners can enjoy Tookies’ take on seafood. Tookies Seafood offers freshly caught local seafood and other gulf favorites. The stilted restaurant sits along the road to the Kemah Boardwalk and Galveston and is sure to be just as much a culinary landmark as its burger-counterpart.

The 12,000 square foot space is decked out in nautical themes and local history. High vaulted ceilings lead throughout the expansive bar, oyster shuck room, and wrap-around outdoor patio. The bar is outfitted with numerous TVs to catch all the games while enjoying a coconut or watermelon flavored margarita or signature cocktail. Draft beer and a wine and liquor menu are also available.

The shuck room offers diners the opportunity to watch their live oysters cracked and prepared from their shells. Tookies Seafood donates all shells back to the Galveston Bay Foundation to be recycled back in the bay. The menu also includes a variety of Cajun po’boys, gumbo, fish tacos, grilled oysters and toppings, fried favorites, and fresh fish like snapper, redfish, and mahi mahi, and catfish. All meats and seafood are cooked on a wood-fired mesquite grill. Tookies even features a selection of homemade desserts.
