Armed with 15 years in the restaurant biz, Paul Miller introduced his globally- inspired Union Kitchen to the Houston market in late-summer 2010. In the years since, Miller has expanded the venture to Kingwood, Memorial and now the Heights.
Building on his experience working at The Grand Luxe and McCormick & Schmick's, Miller offers gues a mix of dishes from around the world. Expect a menu of moderately-priced salads, sandwhiches, seafood and chops. Some standouts include the grispy asparagus with sauteed Texas Blue Crab meat, the tuna tostadas and chipotle shrimp pizza. Look for brunch on the weekends and bottomless mimosas.
Menu items specifically for the Washington Avenue location include the Elan Snapper, which features crispy skin Gulf Red Snapper topped with papaya chutney and served over fresh herb vegetable risotto with lime citrus butter. The Westcott Salad is topped with grilled apples, house croutons, fresh oven roasted Roma tomatoes, gouda cheese and pecans and tossed with Creole apple dressing.
Union Kitchen is open for lunch and dinner daily.
