Michael Sambrooks kicked the doors open to The Pit Room in August 2016, serving up smoked meats to eager Montrose residents. Situated in a former adult entertainment store, the cafeteria-style concept quickly created culinary waves with its smoked meats, sides and desserts.
Grab a spot in line and choose from brisket, ribs, pulled pork and chicken options, as well as sausage—regulars are quick to tout the jalapeno cheddar sausage, in case you’re undecided. Classic sides like potato salad, cole slaw, beans and mac and cheese are on offer, as are a mix of tacos. If you want to test out a mix of Pit Room selections, go for the shareable Feast option, which comes with a full spread of smoked items and a handful of sides.
