The Cottonmouth Club, located in the historic Brewster Building at 108 Main St., is Downtown’s newest cocktail experience. The brainchild of Reserve 101’s Mike Raymond and veteran bartender Mike Neff, The Cottonmouth Club team describes the space as “the least cocktail-y cocktail bar we could come up with.” The goal of The Cottonmouth Club is to create a feeling and ambiance before the patron even chooses which libation they’ll be enjoying, saying the bar "pits as much care into curating the experience as we are the actual drinks. If that means something tangible like the first thing a guest does is select her glassware when she arrives upstairs, so be it. If that means something more abstract and interpretive, that’s good too.”

The atmosphere of The Cottonmouth Club feels like a hidden gem in the heart of Downtown. The exposed brick and wood floors draw guests in and the ambiance is complemented by the varied, intricate and exciting cocktail menu. Some fun drinks include the Be Mice Elf, which is described as a cold-brew negroni, the You Look At Me Once, You Look At Me Twice, a very cold, off-dry absinthe frappe and the At Least There’s Pretty Lights which is a French 75 with strawberry and rosé. It’s very obvious that Raymond and Neff took a lot of time and effort to craft a true cocktail and liquor list that is sure to please.

Happy Hour at The Cottonmouth Club is every Monday through Friday with $6 house cocktails until 7 p.m. In addition to its main space, The Cottonmouth Club also offers a private area and bar upstairs.
