Pistolero's Tequila & Taco Bar

The tequila and taco bar movement continues to gain traction in H-Town with the May 2013 opening of Pistolero's. Located in the former Nabi space, Pistolero's Mexican pop-art interior sets the scene for sharable plates, margaritas, speciality cocktails and more than three dozen tequilas.

The bar's owner, Shawn Bermudez—the same talent behind Montrose's Boondocks, Royal Oak and several of the Westheimer Curve's vintage shops—overhauled the former sushi restaurant space. Now, the warmly-open interior glows with shimmery, copper tiles, iridescent star pendants and exposed brick detailing. Leather booths line the perimeter, playing host to fresh-faced patrons hungry for savory tacos filled with everything from oxtail and barbacoa to beer battered fish and lengua.

The restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
