Located in the heart of Downtown Houston, Osso & Kristalla is an Italian trattoria near Minute Maid Park. The sister restaurant to the upscale dine-in only Potente, Osso & Kristalla is a casual dining spot with floor-to-ceiling windows around. In fact, there are just enough window panes to allow the sun to shine through and light up the open and airy space accented with marble.
Thanks to the executive chef Michael Parker, Astros’ owner Jim Crane’s personal chef, visitors can grab breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even a snack if their heart desires, whenever they like. It’s the type of trattoria people can stop by for a drink or yummy snack, like a bombolone or Italian doughnut, anytime of day. Or, guests can have a glass of wine along with a heartier afternoon or evening menu item like four-cheese tortellini, steak frites and spaghetti fries or wood-fire-roasted chicken. However, those looking for a lighter fare aren’t overlooked. Menu items such as the arugula peppered in with lightly marinated vegetables or parmesan cheese help balance out those heartier Italian dishes.
As for cocktails, well, Osso & Kristalla is oddly enough without an actual drinks menu. But that’s fine. Luckily, there is always a bartender or server nearby to help make any drink of choice. Osso & Kristalla is open Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Street parking is available.
