Looking to see some of the most sought-after sites in and around the city? Reserve a seat on one of the Houston Tours’ daily-departing vans and busses.
Spend the day exploring Space Center Houston. Passengers are picked up from their hotel and delivered to the aeronautics museum for a 5.5-hour tour of space labs, training facilities and the starship gallery. Visitors will also have a chance to see a short film on the history of space travel in the United States.
Hop aboard the City of Houston Tour for a 3.5-hour adventure that spotlights the Astrodome, Texas Medical Center and a walking tour of Rice University. Later, pass through the Museum District before visiting Downtown’s Chase Tower, where passengers will enjoy sweeping city views from the 60th floor observation deck of the Chase Tower (week days only). Other stops include visits to the Water Wall and the Galleria area.
Passengers can also opt for an extended excursion that includes the City of Houston Tour, plus a visit to the Houston Ship Channel and San Jacinto Monument and Museum of History—the latter of which marks the location that Texas won its independence. The extended tour also takes travelers aboard Battleship Texas, a real WWI/WWII-era ship that contained living and working quarters for a crew of more than 1,800.
Another option is to head south to Galveston Island, where visitors will ride the ferry and shop in The Historic Strand District. Later, take a tour of Bishop’s Palace (one of the 100 best historical homes in the United States) and visit the famous Moody Gardens.
