Goodnight Charlie’s is a good ‘ole fashioned combination of comfort food, countless libations, and honky tonk with a modern twist. The motto sums it up perfectly: “Our Houston honky tonk welcomes all with the Texas spirit.”
The venue comes from local developer Peter McCarthy, and Master Sommelier , David Keck, formerly of Camerata. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, bluegrass, Zydeco, and country music acts hit the stage, while guests hit the dance floor, with performances from Aaron McDonnell, Carson McHone, Eskimo Brothers and Hard Luck Revival, to name a few. With all that dancing, food is the staple that energizes guests.
Nestled in the heart of Montrose, Goodnight Charlie’s offers a simple, yet flavorful menu for foodies everywhere. Developed by Chef Alvin Schultz – the chef behind the Underground Dinner pop-up concept and MasterChef’s alum – the menu offers 20 dishes, including a late night menu. Creating food with Tex-Mex in mind, the chef focuses on tacos with housemade tortillas and other Mexican-inspired dishes, such as a chicken fried steak cemita and elotes (grilled Mexican corn). In addition, the bar offers a variety of wines and beers on tap, and nearly 40 varieties of bourbons.
Goodnight Charlie's is open Monday to Saturday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and 12 p.m. to midnight on Sundays.
