The guys behind Down House have added another venture to their Houston offerings with the 2013 opening of D&T Drive Inn. After nearly 50 years in business, the Downhouse team purchased the Heights-area icehouse in 2012, breathing new life into the neighborhood dive, while still maintaining its local charm.
In the latest incarnation, D&T Drive Inn held on to its original name and come-as-you-are vibe, though its interior saw a remodel, along with its brew line-up. There, expect to find more than 50 beers on tap—a mix of microbrews and bar standards—a solid jukebox and a linger-worthy patio with plenty of seating. Expect a food menu to be added in the coming months.
D&T Drive Inn is open until midnight, daily, and until 1 a.m. on Saturday nights.
