Art of the World Gallery is home to one of the nation’s preeminent curations of modern and contemporary art. Upon making its public debut in Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood in October 2016, the museum-quality art haven has achieved a well-earned reputation of excellence and boldness, eschewing the ubiquitous in its rise to the forefront of modern and contemporary art in Texas.
Co-Founders Liliana Molina and Mauricio Vallejo bring decades of combined art career experience and carefully cultivated relationships to the gallery’s quarterly exhibitions as well as its permanent works with a dynamic mix of artistic mediums. From paintings, watercolors, and jacquard tapestries to bronze and marble sculptures, the husband-and-wife team have amassed a vast collection of global contemporary art seldom seen outside major contemporary museums.
With works by two dozen artists from ten countries on four continents, Molina and Vallejo have managed to create an intimate gallery experience that eliminates intimidation thanks to close personal ties they share with the artists they represent following decades spent cultivating relationships and building hard-earned trust in the fickle art world. The brick-and-mortar public gallery is the culmination of their lifelong dream to increase both awareness and affinity for modern and contemporary art. Select artists represented by Art of the World Gallery include Fernando Botero, Robert Indiana, Mr. Brainwash, Rafael Barrios, Javier Marín, and more.
