The Alley Kat Bar & Lounge

Inconspicuous, yes. But Marcus Davis and Kory Hinton’s nightlife concept, The Alley Kat Bar and Lounge is one of those places you’ll love discovering.

Located on Mid-Main near hotspots like the Continental Club and Double Trouble, Alley Kat has sort of a speakeasy vibe with low lighting, rich woods and smooth jazz. The spot was formerly The Mink, and that sign still hangs outside. But inside, everything has changed for the better. Beautiful antique furnishings and fabric wall coverings enrich this shotgun-style space that has—yes—a quaint back alley. 

Enjoy classic cocktails and a few new creations at Alley Kat or sample some one of their premium beers for just $4. The bar backs up to Davis’ much more well-known spot, the breakfast klub—but the partners are leaving the food thing over there. With light rail expanding and more openings coming to Mid-Main, Alley Kat is scratching the post at the right time.
