Miller Outdoor Theatre

Miller Outdoor Theatre, founded in 1923, is Houston's premier outdoor theater for the performing arts. Free performances run March through October.

Miller Outdoor Theatre offers the most diverse professional entertainment of any Houston performance venue, including classical music, jazz, ethnic music and dance, ballet, Shakespeare, musical theater, classic films and much more. Relax in the covered seating area or enjoy a pre-performance picnic on the hillside.

The theater is located on approximately 7.5 acres of land in Hermann Park. Seating is provided for 1,705 patrons and 20 wheelchair spaces, plus a sloping lawn that accommodates approximately 4,500 more on blankets or lawn chairs.

All performances at Miller Outdoor Theatre are FREE, no matter where you sit! Covered seating, however, does require a ticket.

• Tickets for covered seating are FREE
• Evening events (excluding movies) offer assigned seating in the covered area
• You can get your tickets online beginning at 10:00 a.m., one day prior to the performance date until noon on the day of performance
• You must be 16 or older to order tickets
• Each person is allowed a maximum of 4 tickets
• The box office, located on the northeast corner of the theater, opens one hour before the performance starts
• Be in your seat at least 10 minutes before show time, as unoccupied seats will be released to the waiting public five minutes after the show starts or at managers discretion.
