George Chauncey, a professor at Yale University, author and one of the nation’s foremost experts on American LGBT history, will headline Rice University’s Campbell Lecture Series April 3-5. This year’s program, titled “From the McCarthy Era to Marriage Equality: LGBT Culture and Politics Since the 1950s,” will feature three lectures: “The Politics of Anti-Gay Discrimination in the McCarthy Era and Beyond” (April 3)“ From Drag Balls to Vogue Balls: Black Gay Culture and Politics Before and After Stonewall” (April 4)" AIDS, the Lesbian Baby Boom and the Campaign for Marriage Equality” (April 5).The lectures are free but registration is required. Each lecture requires a separate ticket.
