When it comes to Houston Pride there is a lot more going on than the parade. The week leading up to the parade is basically one big celebration with events taking place all over the city. 

Keeping track of all the goings-on can feel overwhelming. Well don’t worry, we've got you covered with the highlights of Houston events happening the week leading up to Pride. 

Wednesday, June 21
    •    Rock the Runway — Feast on hors d’oeuvres and fabulous cocktails while watching some of the hottest models sashay down the runway. Located at Audi Central Houston, this event is free. 8 - 10 p.m.

Thursday, June 22
    •    Pride Superstar Competition Finale at Rich’s — It is time to crown a new Superstar. Pride Superstar celebrates 11 years of cutthroat competition with a new group of Houston talent. Be there for the finale at Rich’s. Starts at 8 p.m.
    •    RuPaul’s Drag Race Carmen Carrera at South Beach — Season three standout Carmen Carrera will co-host the local drag queen competition, So You Think You Can Drag? and participate in a meet and greet at South Beach. Starts at 9 p.m.
    •    Story Hole: A Pride Celebration of Queer Stories — In honor of Pride month, Rec Room is hosting a story telling showcase featuring LGBTQ stories and performers. Come celebrate your pride and lift a pint with Story Hole. Shows at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Friday, June 23
    •    Eden: A Pride Girl Party — Pearl Bar is hosting a party to celebrate the women in the LGBT community. There will be a burlesque show, a silent auction, drinks, and even an inflatable fun zone. Tickets are $10 and don’t worry, men are welcome too. 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
    •    Rainbow on the Green at Discovery Green — Show your pride at the 7th annual Rainbow on the Green celebration. The free LGBT event features live music, food and drinks. 7 to 10 p.m.
    •    RuPaul’s Drag Race Katya and Trixie Mattel at South Beach — The comedy duo and fan favorites from RuPaul’s Drag Race season 7 will slay the stage at South Beach. Autographs and photos with fans will follow the performance. Starts at 9 p.m.

Saturday, June 24
    •    2017 Houston Pride Festival —  Enjoy live music (LeAnn Rimes!), drinks and more at the official Pride Festival. Located downtown at the cross streets of McKinney and Smith, this event is free to the public. Noon to 7 p.m.
    •    2017 Houston Pride Parade — Dress in your proudest outfit and march with performers and floats in one of the country’s largest LGBT parades. 8:30 - 11 p.m.
    •    Beyond Wonderland: Official Pride Afterparty at Rich’s — Dance the night away at the multi-level dance club with resident DJ Joe Ross spinning on the main stage. The event is sure to reach capacity so purchasing tickets ahead of time is encouraged. Starts at 10 p.m.
    •    RuPaul’s Drag Race Alaska and Detox — Two-thirds of RoLaskaTox will perform at South Beach as part of their Pride party. The winner and runner-up of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 2 are sure to put on a sickening show. Starts at 9 p.m.

Sunday, June 25
    •    Mad Tea: Official Closing Party at Rich’s — All good things must come to an end. Close out your Pride celebration with great music and good drinks. 5 p.m. to 12 a.m.
    •    Pride Foam Party at South Beach — Celebrate the end of Pride month by dancing in organic foam up to your shoulders. Starts at 9 p.m.
