No city does Halloween better than Houston. From the annual Montrose Block Party to the bar events across the neighborhood, it is one of the best weekends of the year. The only problem is figuring out the perfect costume that will be the envy of your friends and get you the most Instagram likes. Well we thought of some 2017-inspired costumes that will make you the belle of the ball.
Game of Thrones
The last season of Game of Thrones was an event to behold and with a cast of thousands, the possibilities are endless. Sure, you could go with the obvious Cersei, Jon Snow or Daenerys Targaryen but why not be more obscure and go as a White Walker or Missandei?
The second season of the breakout show premieres the weekend before Halloween. Going as Eleven is perfect for those who get hungry while partying the night away. Just precook your Ego’s for a late-night snack. Or if you are feeling a bit whimsical, an old shirt with the alphabet and Christmas lights around yourself works just as well.
Pennywise and Babbadook
Looking for a couple’s costume? Go as the powerful LGBT iconic couple we didn’t know we needed. One of you can be the terrifying clown from the movie IT and can be the Babbadook from, well, The Babbadook.
The Handmaid’s Tale
The perfect costume for those not looking to interact with men all night. All you need is a red cloak and a cone for your head. It’s the perfect group costume and ideal for hiding those few extra pounds you picked up post-beach season.
I believe everyone should try drag once in their life. This season of RuPaul’s Drag Race turned out some iconic looks to mimic from Sasha Velour’s winning rose petal dress to Valetina’s shocking face mask.
This is for the lazy and cheap people looking to go out on Halloween. Just tack 300 (or so) pieces of paper to your body and go as Hillary Clinton’s missing emails.
No one will ever judge you for dressing up as one of The Plastics. And with the Broadway musical opening next year, now is the perfect time to just go as a mouse, duh.
